Al-Quds Day,a day of solidarity with the oppressed

#Palestinians . #Israel #zionism

Quds Day (Jerusalem Day, Quds is the city's Arabic name), officially called International Quds Day (روز جهانی قدس) in Iran, is an annual event held on the last Friday of Ramadan that was initiated by the Islamic Republic of Iran in 1979 to express solidarity with the Palestinian people and oppose Zionism and Israel's existence,[1] as well as Israel's control of Jerusalem. In Iran, the government sponsors and organizes the day's rallies. Quds Day is also held in several countries in the Arab and Muslim world with protests against the Israeli occupation of East Jerusalem.

Berkeley students' surprising reaction to #ISIS and #Israel flags on campus

B.S : I notice one things tha isis flag up site down  !!

Ami Horowitz: I have always thought that there was no connection between intellect
and wisdom. To put this theory to the test, I headed out to the
University of California, Berkeley.

Students at Berkeley clearly have a lot of intellect; it is one of the most prestigious and selective
universities in the country. But do they have wisdom? I went to the
bucolic campus armed with a flag that represents the greatest evil
known today, ISIS. If these are our best and brightest then we should
all be afraid, very afraid.

The shocking video above unfortunately proves once and for all that there is in fact no connection between intellect and wisdom.

#KFC comes to #Gaza, but only via its #tunnel network

0 التعليقات
Fast-food takes on an entirely different meaning in the Gaza Strip, where some Gazans are willing to wait up to four hours for a delivery of KFC

Unlike the West Bank, the 25-mile long coastal strip does not have any trademark fast-food outlets. But that has not stopped Khalil Efrangi, a 31-year-old Palestinian business owner, from providing the much craved and internationally renowned brand of fried chicken.
The lengthy process, in which KFC meals travel roughly 50 miles, begins in Gaza, where orders are taken. According to Yamama’s Facebook page—which issues regular reminders of upcoming deliveries and contact details for placing orders—there are usually two or three deliveries a week, each consisting of dozens of individual orders. After various phone calls and wire transfers, the chicken is prepared in neighboring Egypt at the KFC franchise store in El-Arish, nearly 30 miles from the Rafah border crossing.
Once the orders are made, they are taken by taxi to one of the many tunnels used for smuggling a plethora of items into the Gaza Strip, particularly as the territory has been subject to a restrictive blockade—imposed by Israel and Egypt—since June 2007. At this point, the food is taken underground into the tunnels, which are controlled and overseen by Hamas. Roughly 7,000 people are estimated to work in the network of over 1,000 tunnels, which are responsible for bringing an estimated 30% of Gaza’s imports.
The work is dangerous as the tunnels “could collapse any time and kill you,” as one eighteen-year-old smuggler told BBC News last year. Gazan human rights groups estimate that 233 individuals have died working in tunnels since 2007. Furthermore, Israeli air strikes have targeted the tunnels, which are also used to smuggle weapons and personnel. Egyptian authorities have likewise sought to prevent illegal activities, such as in February of this year, when they flooded the tunnels in response to the deteriorating security situation in the Sinai province.
While the food is being transported through the prearranged tunnel, a Palestinian taxi driver waits at the entrance, ready to transport the meals to Yamama’s store in Gaza city. Once there, the buckets of chicken and other food items are divided into the separate orders and delivered by their fleet of motorbikes.
They offer anything that is available at the store in El-Arish by ordering online, according to the delivery service’s Facebook page, although more specific items are subject to discussion where payment is concerned. “It’s our right to enjoy that taste the other people all over the world enjoy,” Mr. Efrangi told the New York Times.
Despite involving four separate payments, Mr. Erfangi’s latest business venture appears profitable. A 21-piece family box costs EGP 124.32 or USD 17.80 at Egyptian KFC stores. However after the extensive transportation process, it is sold by Yamama for ILS 135 or USD 37.00. The cost of moving the goods through the tunnels is USD 16.50, according to a New York Times reporter who witnessed the process, meaning that Yamama makes roughly USD 6 profit per delivery.

Google 'recognizes' Palestine as a state

1 التعليقات
Google has taken a big semantic leap forward in "recognizing" Palestine as a state, switching the tagline of its Google country homepage from "Palestinian Territories" to "Palestine."

The change, introduced on May 1, means that visitors to Google.ps will now see the word "Palestine" in both Arabic and English under Google's logo.
The new terminology is a controversial move by the internet giant. Google's name swap follows a November vote by the United Nations General Assembly to recognize Palestine as a full non-member state. Previously, it was considered only an "observer entity."
The UN vote gave Palestine strong international backing, despite the objections of Israel and the United States, which voted against the change.
More from GlobalPost: UN recognizes non-member state of Palestine in overwhelming vote
Google's decision to recognize Palestine is a small but important victory for advocates of Palestinian statehood.
Google spokesman Nathan Tyler told the BBC on Friday that the company was changing 'Palestinian Territories' to 'Palestine' across the brand's products.
"We consult a number of sources and authorities when naming countries," Tyler told the BBC. "In this case, we are following the lead of the UN, Icann [the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers], ISO [International Organization for Standardization] and other international organizations."
"This is a step in the right direction, a timely step and one that encourages others to join in and give the right definition and name for Palestine instead of Palestinian territories," Dr. Sabri Saidam, advisor to Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, told the BBC.
"Most of the traffic that happens now happens in the virtual world and this means putting Palestine on the virtual map as well as on the geographic maps," he added.

A Clear View from Foggy Bottom

A fabled but previously secret State Department intelligence memorandum that predicted, five months in advance, the 1973 Arab-Israeli war, has now emerged from classified vaults so obscure that even State Department historians and CIA officers responsible for Freedom of Information Act requests could not penetrate them.

When the war broke out on October 6, it surprised high-level officials in the Nixon administration. Yet, in a paper written the previous May, the State Department's Bureau of Intelligence and Research (INR) had estimated that there was a "better than even bet" that war would occur "by autumn." Not one other office in the U.S. government had made such an estimate, and the Israelis themselves had dismissed the possibility of war. Although this example of INR's acuity has been known about for years, the document itself was surprisingly elusive and is being published for the first time here and on the National Security Archive website.
According to INR, Egyptian President Anwar Sadat would start a war with Israel not to achieve specific military objectives but to spur "big power" diplomatic intervention in the Arab-Israeli conflict. The authors of the INR paper anticipated that as war unfolded, a variety of U.S. "interests" in the region could come under attack, with possible nationalizations of petroleum facilities, "efforts to displace US oil companies with those from Europe and Japan," and "prolonged oil embargoes." Despite the far-sighted INR analysis, senior officials in the Nixon administration saw war as unlikely.
A discussion of the INR report was a highlight of a remarkable conference held at Washington's Cosmos Club in October 1998, the war's 25th anniversary. Organized by the late ambassador Richard Parker, it included senior and mid-level former officials from Egypt, Syria, Israel, the United States, and the former Soviet Union -- including a secretary of defense, ambassadors, generals, and a KGB station chief -- all of whom played important roles at the time. The October 1973 intelligence failure was an important element of the discussion, and a memorable moment was when INR's former desk officer for Egypt, Roger Merrick, spoke about how he developed the estimate with input from INR colleagues David Mark and Phillip Stoddard.
For Merrick, the possibility of conflict was inherent in the dynamics of the situation. Egyptian leaders had tried to use diplomacy to recover territory in the Sinai Peninsula lost to Israeli forces during the Six-Day War in June 1967. But the Israelis were unresponsive, and National Security Adviser Henry Kissinger had nothing to offer his Egyptian counterparts. By the spring of 1973, according to Merrick, Sadat had "established himself as a strong player, serious;" yet despite his push for a diplomatic resolution of the Sinai problem, he was "neglected, and in an intolerable position with his political alternatives exhausted." On the other hand, his "forces were in place to launch hostilities and had not raised any significant alarm; thus the estimate that there was a better than even chance of major hostilities within six months."
Analysts at the State Department's Office of Near Eastern Affairs (NEA) rejected the INR view, and senior officials like Kissinger and Assistant Secretary of State Joseph Sisco felt no alarm because the Israelis, underestimating Arab capabilities, kept assuring them that there was no danger. Kissinger did not tell any of the players that Soviet General Secretary Leonid Brezhnev had warned of war in the region during his visit to the United States in June 1973. The dispute between INR and NEA over the possibility of war, Merrick recounted, "continued throughout the summer and fall until hostilities erupted," and INR's estimate was vindicated.
INR's analysts have often been on the money. In 1964, Allen Whiting predicted the strong likelihood of a Chinese atomic test, which Secretary of State Dean Rusk announced to the world two weeks before the event. During the Vietnam War, INR analysts starting with Lewis Sarris critically assessed the Pentagon's evaluation of "progress" in South Vietnam. In the run-up to the Iraq War, INR did share in the consensus that Saddam had been trying seriously to establish a biological and chemical warfare capability, but the bureau was spectacularly right in its doubt about the most important claim in the Bush White House's case for war: that Saddam was "reconstituting" a nuclear weapons capability. INR disputed the claims that Iraq's aluminum tubes were for gas centrifuges and that the country had recently sought uranium yellow-cake from Niger.

#Anonymous warns #Israel: 'No one cuts internet on our watch #opisrael #FreePalestine #AntiZionist #Anonymous

VIDEO | Anonymous – #Operation Israel (v2.0)

The Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and YouTube accounts of Israeli Deputy Premier Silvan Shalom have been hacked and filled with pro-Palestine status updates. ZCompanyHackingCrew claimed responsibility for this latest act of cyber war against Israel.
The group also claims to have hacked Shalom’s email and extracted personal mail, contacts and documents. The hackers announced plans to release the documents shortly.
In Shalom's hijacked Twitter feed, the hacker group posted calls for protest against "unjust war and occupation," and asked, "Who can bare to see the horror, the deaths of children and innocent people trying to protect their occupied land?"
The full-scale cyber attack on the top Israeli official comes just days after prominent hacker group Anonymous leaked the personal information of 5,000 Israeli officials.
Anonymous also hacked over 700 Israeli websites, including the Bank of Jerusalem, the Israeli Defense Ministry, the IDF blog, the president's official website and many others, with the majority of the pages still down.
The Israeli finance minister acknowledged the wave of attacks, saying the government is now waging a war on a “second front.”
Over the past few days, Israel has “deflected 44 million cyber-attacks on government websites,” Israeli Finance Minister Yuval Steinitz told AP.

Hacker group Anonymous has launched a massive attack named #OpIsrael on almost 700 Israeli websites, protesting against Operation Pillar of Defense in Gaza. Israeli media confirmed the group’s move.
The hackers reportedly took down websites ranging from high-profile governmental structures such as the Foreign Ministry to local tourism companies’ pages.
The biggest attack as of now has been the Israeli Foreign Ministry’s international development program, titled Mashav. Anonymous announced on Twitter they’ve hacked into the program’s database, with the website remaining inaccessible at the moment.
“There is [sic] so many defaced Israeli websites right now, that we just made a list of them,” Anonymous tweeted.
The hacktivists also took down the Israeli President's official website and the blog of the country's Defense Force, www.idfblog.com, posting the news on Twitter using their infamous #TANGO DOWN hashtag.
The Jerusalem Post has confirmed the group’s assault, including the attack on the Foreign Ministry’s website, as well as those of Kadima party, Bank of Jerusalem, and Tel Aviv Municipality. The latter is online as of now. Among other functions, it provides residents with directions to bomb shelters. Meanwhile, the majority of the web pages that were taken down were blank, but some showed pro-Palestinian images and messages, Jerusalem Post reported.
It was mentioned, however, that most of the 663 pages on the list were subdomains of the same site, and many proved to be still online and functioning properly.
Most of the sites were simply unavailable, but others displayed pro-Palestinian images and messages. One site whose front page was replaced with an image of a man wearing a Palestinian kaffiye, displayed a message reading: "This attack is in response to the Injustice against the Palestinian people."
Overnight, the group claimed 9,000 websites were taken down, but the actual number proved to be fewer than that.
Overnight, the group claimed 9,000 websites were taken down, but the actual number proved to be fewer than that.
From the very beginning of the Israeli offensive, Anonymous has avidly supported the Palestinian people. On Wednesday, they said in a press statement, "For far too long, Anonymous has stood by with the rest of the world and watched in despair the barbaric, brutal and despicable treatment of the Palestinian people in the so called 'Occupied Territories' by the Israel Defense Force."
Amid the conflict, which has already claimed at least 33 lives, 30 of them Palestinians, Anonymous also pledged to help those who are at the heart of the conflict: many Palestinians were left without electricity, and consequently, without internet access. The hackers gave instructions on their Twitter account for residents to get reconnected: “If you have friends in Gaza who still have phone, but need internet, give them these dial-up numbers and instructions: http://pastebin.com/6dYQruHu.”
Anonymous put together a “Gaza Care Package,” which contains instructions in Arabic and English to assist Palestinians in the event that the Israeli government cuts their internet connection. Plus, the package includes information on evading IDF surveillance, along with first aid information. The collective encouraged Palestinians to download and share the package with others.
Anonymous members also contacted Israeli forces directly. A tweet from an Anonymous account to an IDF spokesperson warned, “It would be wise of you to expect us”, while a statement on their webpage said, “Stop bombing Gaza. Millions of Israelis and Palestinians are lying awake, exposed and terrified.”
