It is worth to mention that this announcement comes after some telecommunication officials announced that they believed there was something criminal behind the damage in the internet cable. I think they got a hint

تبدأ الحكاية بعد أن إتهمت بعض القوى الثورية وبعض النشطاء السياسيين جماعة الإخوان المسلمين وشبابها بالتعدى عليهم أمام مكتب الإرشاد وتباينت القصص والروايات حول لماذا تم افعتداء فالبعض يقول أن الإخوان أرداوا الإنتقام من خسارة إنتخابات نقابة الصحافة مع أن الإخوان لم يكن لهم مرشح مباشر فى هذه الإنتخابات ولم يعلن الإخوان المسلمين عن وجود مرشحين لهم فى هذه الإنتخابات وبالرغم من ذلك قالوا أن الإخوان المسلمين خسروا انتخابات نقابة الصحفيين كذلك قال البعض أن الصحفيين تواجدوا هناك لتغطية تواجد خالد مشعل فى مكتب الإرشاد ولقاؤه بالمرشد بالرغم انه لم يتم الإعلان عن ذلك ولم تصدر أى جهة تابعة للإخوان عن وجود خالد مشعل أو عن وجود لقاء بينه وبين المرشد داخل المقر بينما رد الإخوان على هذه الإتهامات من ناحيتهم عندما اكدوا أن النشطاء السياسيين تواجدوا امام المقر وقاموا بالسب للإخوان والمرشد كما قاموا بكتابة عبارات مسيئة ومهينة للإخوان والمرشد وحاولوا رسم بعض الرسومات او الجرافيتى كما يُطلق عليها فما كان من شباب الإخوان إلا انهم خرجوا لهم وإعتدوا عليهم وبين تلك الروايات وتلك وبين ضياع الحقيقة بين كلام هؤلاء وأولئك يبقى سؤال إستخدمه معارضى الإخوان فيما سبق ردا على أحداث قصر الإتحادية رددها كل المعارضين وكل القنوات الفضائية والصحف المعروفة بمهاجمة الإخوان وكان السؤال هو ..لماذ ذهب الإخوان أمام قصر الإتحادية ؟؟؟ ..فهل يمكن توجيه هذا السؤال الآن للنشطاء السياسيين وهل يمكن القول لماذا ذهب المعارضين والنشطاء أمام مقر الإخوان بالمقطم ؟؟ ولكن سوف نجد من يقول انهم تواجدوا فى مكان عام فى الشارع ولا يمكن أحد منعهم ولكن الرد سوف يكون بنفس الطريقة الإخوان هم أيضا عندما ذهبوا لقصر الإتحادية توجدوا أمام مكان عام من حقهم التواجد فيه سوف يقول البعض الآخر الإخوان ذهبوا أمام قصر الإتحادية وهم يعرفون أن المعارضة متواجدة هناك فسوف يكون الرد أيضا وهل عندما ذهب النشطاء أمام مقر الإخوان كانوا يتوقعون أن الإخوان لن يتواجدوا فى مقرهم ومن من الممكن التواجد داخل مقر الإخوان أو أمامه هل يمكن أن يتواجد المعارضين ؟؟
وبعد الأحداث السابق ذكرها دعت بعض القوى الثورية والعديد من النشطاء السياسيين للتظاهر امام مكتب الإرشاد بالمقطم ردا على ماحدث لهم من شباب الإخوان وبالفعل حدث ذلك أمام المكتب أمس ولكن شهد التواجد الذى دائما مايصفه الإعلام بالسلمى بالرغم ما يخلفه من حرائق وحالات تخريب وإصابات نفس ما يشهده دائما تواجد المعارضة فى أى مكان إعتداءات ومولوتوف وحرائق وإصابات بالجملة وأحداث أمس طرحت العديد من الأسئلة كانت تحتاج إلى إجابات ورددها العديد من الإعلاميين وهى
(1) هل بعد إحتراق مقرات الإخوان والإعتداء على مقر الإرشاد بالمقطم وسحل وحرق بعض أفرادهم أمس هل بعد كل ذلك مازال البعض يعتقد انهم يمتلكون ميلشيات مسلحة؟؟
(2) هل من كانوا يرددون ان الإخوان هم من قاموا بموقعة الجمل وهم من قاموا بأحداث بورسعيد وهم من يغتصبون ويتحرشون وكل ماسبق من أفعال إجرامية مازالوا يعتقدون ذلك ؟ وهل لو كان الإخوان يستأجرون بلطجية ليفعلوا ذلك لماذا لم يستأجروا نفس البلطجية للدفاع عنهم امس ؟؟

Do You remember that documentary “Jews of Egypt” ??
This ambitious interesting documentary was going to be the second Egyptian documentary to be screened commercially in Egyptian selected cinemas. Its official release was supposed to be tonight but just as we are waiting for its release we found out that it was banned.

  Yes it was banned from screening in Egypt officially despite it was approved by the Censorship bureau following the ministry of Culture. The film was banned by the Homeland Security previously known as State security.
The documentary film maker Amir Ramsis spoke about the matter on his Facebook page.

اكتشاف أثري هام في شبه جزيرة سيناء المصرية يلقي الضوء على ضخامة الجيش المصري القديم وشراسة المعارك التي دارت بين الدولة الفرعونية والهكسوس. كما يشير الاكتشاف إلى وقوع أول تسونامي في العالم قبل 3500 عاماً.

كشفت بعثة لوزارة الآثار المصرية عن مبان إدارية ضخمة محصنة تعود إلى عصر الهكسوس، تتكون من طابقين وعدة صالات وحجرات مبنية من الطوب اللبن بموقع تل حبوة، على بعد ثلاثة كيلومترات شرق قناة السويس بمنطقة القنطرة في محافظة شمال سيناء، حسبما صرح محمد إبراهيم وزير الآثار المصري.
وكشفت البعثة أيضاً عن بقايا مخلفات بركانية لقطع من بركان سان تورينى في البحر المتوسط، الذي أحدث أول تسونامى في العالم القديم منذ ما يقرب من حوالي 3500 عام وتسبب في غرق جزء كبير من سواحل سيناء والدلتا وعدد من المدن الأثرية، منها منطقة تل حبوة المعروفة قديما بقلعة ثارو.
وأشار الوزير، في بيان تلقت وكالة الأنباء الألمانية نسخة منه السبت (16 مارس/ آذار 2013)، إلى أنه تم اكتشاف هياكل آدمية وحيوانية من عصر الهكسوس داخل تلك المبان، وأن العديد من الهياكل الآدمية وجدت مطعونه برؤوس السهام والحراب، في دليل على المعارك الحربية التي دارت في الموقع بين الجيش الفرعوني بقيادة الملك أحمس الأول والغزاة الهكسوس حتى تم طردهم من مصر.
كما أضاف الوزير في البيان أن البعثة كشفت أيضاً "عن عدد من مخازن الجيش المصري وصوامع للغلال، بعضها دائري يبلغ قطره أربعة أمتار وأخرى مستطيلة أبعادها 30 متراً، وقدرت كمية الغلال التي تحتويها بأكثر من 280 طناً، مما يشير إلى ضخامة أعداد الجيش في عصر الدولة الفرعونية الحديثة.

ولفت البيان إلى أن الموقع سيتم إعداده كمتحف مفتوح للتاريخ العسكري على مساحة ألف فدان، ضمن مشروعات تطوير محور قناة السويس سياحياً.
من جانبه، قال الدكتور محمد عبد المقصود، نائب رئيس قطاع الآثار المصرية ورئيس بعثة الحفائر بشمال سيناء، إنه كشف عن بقايا حريق ضخم للعديد من المباني التي أحرقت بالمدينة أثناء المعركة، مما يؤكد ما جاء في بردية "رايند" المحفوظة بالمتحف البريطاني، بأن ملك مصر أحمس الأول قام بالهجوم على قلعة ثارو بتل حبوة ودخل المدينة وحاصر بعد ذلك عاصمة الهكسوس أفاريس في منطقة تل الضبعة بمحافظة الشرقية، على بعد 50 كيلومتراً من تل حبوة.
وكانت قلعة ثارو مركز قيادة الجيش في عصر الدولة الفرعونية الحديثة ومقراً ملكياً لفراعنة مصر ومركزاً للقيادة العسكرية وتجميع الجيوش التى خرجت من مصر لتأمين الحدود، ولذلك أقيم بها أربع قلاع ضخمة وأسوار من الطوب اللبن وخنادق وموانع مائية ومنحدرات حول الأسوار لمنع تسلقها، وكذلك أسوار مزدوجة. وبلغت مساحة أكبر القلاع المكتشفة 300 متر في 600 متر، مدعمة بعدد كبير من الأبراج. ويتراوح سمك الأسوار ما بين ثمانية و14 متراً.

Baha’i in #egypt

January 2013- Despite the new year, Egyptian Minister of Education Ibrahim Deif reiterated his old comments about the (lack of) acceptance of Baha’i children in Egyptian government schools in an interview with the Egyptian newspaper “Al Akhbar al Yowm”.

The newspaper asked:

The Minister of Education, Ibrahim Deif, replied:

 هناك ديانات ثلاث معترف بها، و لن أعتزف بأي ديانة أجري، والتربية الديانية مادة اساسية و إذا استطاعوا استيفاء شروط الالتحاق بالمدارس فأهلا و سهلا بهم، و من لا يرضي بشروطي فلا مكان له عندي لأن الديانات المعترف بها دستوريا هي الديانات السماوية الثلاث فقط ولم يعترف بسواها
[The monotheistic faiths] are only three recognized religions, and no other faiths are recognized.  Religion is a crucial subject in school, and if [a student] is able to full the conditions of enrollment in government schools, then they are welcome. However, there is no place for anyone who does not accept these conditions because the only constitutionally recognized religions are the monotheistic faiths, and no others.

If readers find the tautologically confusing and meaningless response of the Minister of Education frustrating, then so do many others. Professor Basma Moussa, a Baha’i activist in Egypt, has a response of her own to the Egyptian Minister:

I have a question for the Minister. What are these conditions that are required for a Baha’i child to enroll in a public school, a school that we all used to attend without conditions, a school from which we succeeded and went on to hold prominent positions that serve our dear country, Egypt?  According to the new constitution itself, education is the right of every child, so please tell us, what are your conditions for an education so that Baha’i parents can figure out how to enroll their children in Egyptian schools, school that are built from the taxes that are taken from us, like they are taken from all Egyptians without discrimination. Please respond, thank you.

The Minister of Education’s remarks are an echo of his comments to another newspaper on November 30th, where he claimed “State law in accordance with government procedures only recognizes three religions, and the Baha’i faith is not among them. Thus their children do not have the right to register in government schools.” His new comments add unidentified “conditions” to the enrollment of Baha’i children in school, which is in fact more dangerous than closing the door entirely.

By claiming that there is a vague method for inclusion, the Egyptian government has the ability to discriminate against Baha’i children and the entire Baha’i community while claiming that there is nothing inherently discriminatory about their laws. Just like the new constitution affirms that “Freedom of belief is an inviolable right” while denying the legitimacy of any faith other than Islam, Christianity, or Judaism, the Minister of Education’s comments pave the way for a discriminatory policy against Baha’is that is given constitutional legitimacy.
